A midwife helps mom and baby. They help with every step. From the time a woman becomes pregnant till after baby is born, they help with check ups and help with birthing and aftercare for both mom and baby. It's a good field to go into although im not sure of the pay rate now days. I'll find out and get back to you!!!

Hi Jossie. I'm a registered midwife from Australia and I absolutely love it. The profession is unlike my nursing career in so many ways. You are "with woman" as a support throughout her pregnancy and birthing experience. You are an advocate for her wants and choices throughout her journey. There is such a difference being in the profession of "wellness" rather than "sickness" as you are typically in the nursing profession. These women aren't unwell, they are going through a life experience, something their bodies were made to do as a natural part of life. It truly is rewarding having the privilege to be a part of such an important time in someone's life. If you have any other questions about mid, just send me a message, i'd be happy to help :)
