I am a radiologist.
In the US, to apply to medical school, you need a bachelor's degree. Any 4-year university should suffice.
Any major is acceptable as long as you complete the prerequisite courses.
Typical medical school prerequisites include:
Biology: Lecture – 4 semesters; Lab – 1 semester
General Chemistry: Lecture – 2 semesters; Lab – 1 semester
Organic Chemistry: Lecture – 2 semesters; Lab – 1 semester
Biochemistry: Lecture – 1 semester
General Physics: Lecture – 2 semesters; Lab – 1 semester
Math: Statistics – 1 semester
English: Rhetoric (Composition) and Literature – 2 semesters
During college study for and complete the MCAT. Apply to medical schools during your last year of college.
Medical school takes 4 years to complete.
After medical school I completed a one-year internship and 4 year radiology residency followed by an additional year of interventional radiology fellowship.

I work at a large company that has many different types of jobs. I graduated from a 4 year College (UCSD) and was hired as a manager. I currently work in an External Affairs organization and educate the public on issues important to AT&T.
You might want to refine your question to be a little more specific. Higher end jobs require more education but you can hire into entry level jobs with a high school diploma or AA degree from a community college.
Some employers will assist you with tuition once you are employed and that may help get to where you want to go.
Interview skills and having a good resume are important in getting hired.
