Roy’s Answer

Adapting to a position requires understanding the expectations from the boss or manager over the position. Many times the adaption period is very short once communication with the manager has been addressed. Really depends on where you are working.

Hello, I think this really depends on your experience level and what sort of position you have. If you are talking about an entry level position, a good manager will realize that you are on a learning curve, and help you adapt to a new position. If you have 20 year experience in a field, your manager may expect that you have the knowledge and expertise to adapt a bit quicker than someone just getting started in a field. When I was first starting my current career, I did an internship in the field. This gave me a great jump start in the industry. I highly recommend an internship if you are just getting started in a field.
