Edalene,

I got me bachelor's degree in sports and health sciences from American Public University. Did you mean you're interested in working as a medical assistant? I think the qualifications for this work are somewhat similar across the board, but how you actually get a position can vary. Some clinics actively look for people they are willing to train, for example, whereas some other employers would require formal education and/or relevant work experience.

If you like though, you can look in your local community colleges to see if there are certificate courses in medical assisting. These are often not very long, and you could become a certified medical assistant, which would be good if a company you want to work for requires a formal education and certification, for example. I hope this helps.

Good luck!
