Hi Joshua. Try reaching out to the local zoo, nature center or natural history museum to see if they have volunteer opportunities or internships. You may also check to see if one of the universities in your area has a program to connect students with professors or graduate students that are looking for assistance.

Great question, Joshua. I have a close friend that worked in veterinary facilities during college to prepare them for future endeavors as they wanted to be zoologist. This allowed them the opportunity to study animal behavior (even though not wildlife) as well as care for animals at the facilities. Having said all this, he eventually went the route of veterinarian but still makes time to enjoy wildlife.
