Besides teaching , here are some of the jobs that requires an extensive knowledge of history that pay well:
(1) Sociologist - involved in designing research projects to help test theories concerning social issues. The median annual wage for sociologists was $79,650 in May 2017.
(2) Anthropologist/Archaeologist - research, evaluate, and establish public policy concerning the origins of humans. The median annual wage for anthropologist was $62,280 in May 2017.
(3) Political Scientist - <span style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51);">study the origin, development, and operation of political systems. They research political ideas and analyze governments, policies, political trends, and related issues. The median annual wage for political scientist was $115,110 in May 2017.</span>
Besides what I have mentioned above, I believe you will have a host of transferable skills that can be picked up with a history degree since a lot of jobs don't specify a degree (unless it is a technical one). Another thing to think about is that many professionals with a history degree have gone on to complete a master's degree in a related field. Having a Master's degree and above usually leads to jobs with higher pay. A degree in history can really open doors to a variety of fields, many of which have employment rates and salaries.
