Valerie’s Answer

Hi Karla,
So chiropractics do not go to medical school, they take classes at a chiropractic school and then take a board certification to become a chiropractic. As for specialties, you can see them listed here https://www.acatoday.org/Communities-Related-Organizations-American-Board-of-Chiropractic-Specialties. Typically, most people search for a pediatric chiropractor or a sports medicine chiropractor. The other certificates are not as common.
Hope this helps.

Jordan’s Answer

Hello.
I was initially interested in becoming a Chiropractor when I graduated with a degree as an Exercise Physiologist. I visited schools and found that most schools will pay for you to come visit the campus over a weekend. Those trips were a great experience. I remember speaking to a student during an open forum and asked a similar question. His short answer was that there are essentially two types of Chiropractors: Musculoskeletal Chiropractors and Wellness Chiropractors. Musculoskeletal focuses on pain/symptom relief and Wellness focuses on structural corrections to the body. The individual I was speaking to said that he would personally recommend going to school to and specializing in the musculoskeletal area of the field.
