Hi
To be successful in business you need to possess numerous skills.
First you should have good communication skills. There are many courses offered at community colleges and universities. It is also beneficial to have some public speaking and debate skills. Understanding people and human behavior as well as body language is beneficial. It is important to be able to read people well and interact with others to form bonds and relationships. You should also take some English classes and writing classes.
Second, you need to have good math skills. It is always important to be able to analyze all costs and understand all of your numbers.
Third, leadership qualities are essential. How you lead comes in many styles. You will develope what works for you best in the labor market you are in. All businesses require people. It is always best to develope a team of people whom do their job well and want to do everything they can for the team. No business is ever run without people and your "people" are one of the most vital components of running a business.
Fourth, not essential but it can really help in forming bonds with people - read ! Read every book you can get your hands on. Read about people from all over the world. We are a global society and understanding as many cultures as possible is helpful. Read about economics so you can make your decisions wisely. Read about world crisis & conflicts, understanding what happened in conflict and crisis helps you in understanding people and often can help you spot signs of things that can effect your business before others do.
Last, honesty...it is essential in forming long lasting relationships with your clients, business associates and your people. A good work ethic, morality and a passion for what you do and the people you do it with are of utmost importance. If you love what you do you will enjoy every day!
I hope this was helpful
