Jen’s Answer

I am answering this question from the perspective of a former elementary school teacher. I was able to witness the impact that tech had elementary classrooms. There are two key areas that stand out to me at the intersection of technology and education:

  1. Connectedness
  2. Individualized learning

Technology can bring people from all around the world together, in one space, in an instant. Want to learn about biomes around the world? Great - you can and you can also take a virtual field trip there. Students can Skype with biologists or wildlife experts to get a first hand account of the real learning that is happening within the classroom. These types of learning experiences are so valuable in a classroom!

Technology can also help with individualized learning goals. Classrooms are so unique and each individual has their own needs and goals. Technology helps teachers identify those needs and provides a framework to help address them. Teachers can meet with small groups of students while other students are learning on adaptive learning software. This software can identify where the student is currently and provide targeted assessments and projects based on their specific needs. These types of learnings are usually highly adaptive and engaging!

Thank you comment icon Aloha Jen, Thank you so much for the prompt response to my question. I truly believe that #tech can positively impact our classrooms through communications and expressions. Incorporating individualized learning options will be necessary within the near future, if not now. Your expertise is remarkable and I highly acknowledge your commitment to making improvements in education. Because I truly admire your dedication to education, I'd be happy to connect on LinkedIn or keep in touch through CareerVillage. Thank you again Jen! Sincerely, Ian Ian

Thank you comment icon Aloha @yoonji KIM, Thank you so much! I feel that by being myself and sharing a little bit about my Hawaii background with simple gestures like "Aloha," allows me to easily connect with people. Glad to hear that you're from Oahu, that's totally awesome! I love getting to visit Oahu over the Summer if I get the chance to, as I'm from Maui. I couldn't be any happier to have joined the CareerVillage Ohana! Hope to keep in touch. Ian

Daniel’s Answer

Hello Ian,

That is a great question. I think education is constantly evolving and will continue to do so. There are new areas of study and focus and will continue to be as well. Even the way we learn has changed tremendously over the years. Following up on some of the other responses, many companies offer education advancement opportunities and even reimburse your tuition. There are many great opportunities out there to explore.

Best of Luck!
