How can we advance technology more than it is today?

We have automatically driven vehicles, artificial intelligence, advances in cell phones and other devices, and so much more! What is something new that would really be something "new"?

Don't look for the solution, look for the problem. All the inventions came to existence because someone thought there is a problem. Problems are all around us, however small it may be and however sophisticated the environment is. My suggestion would be to keep an eye on opportunity to do something better, preferably in the area of your interest, find a better way to do it, and most importantly research, plan and execute.

Look for a niche, find something that is a problem/need that no one has been able to address yet. It does not have to be something that is huge or on an epic level, but if you can find an area/issue that technology is able to address for the masses, then you are on to something.
