Maleah W,
We limit ourselves by miscommunicating through text, not being social because our heads are bent into our phones or pads and also not having time to enjoy the Earth because our world is on YouTube and other social apps. There are many ways that technology have effected human beings in the last 20 years. There was a time men had to use chivalry to woo women but now not so much. It is easier to get on a dating site and just send messages and move on to the next...probably a date on Skype. Technology is great when you are seeking knowledge of the world via recommneded sources. You can find questions on google such as what is two plus two meaning there is no longer no reason to unlock the left part of the brain in finding a solution for a challenge.
I grew up in the inner city of Newark, NJ during the mid 90s to early 00s and during those time as far as music goes you had to walk around with a 12 oz walkman or CD player that played cassettes and CD-roms which could easily slip out of small hands and break. But today you can walk around with a phone about 138 g lightly in your pockets with Pandora and downloaded songs from all over the world. I use to see children flying kites, playing marbles in the dirt and catching bugs outside in jars among many other activities but now they are playing candy crush and other games on the PC that keeps their mind stuck to the screen. Also as far as travelling for those who can't travel as much as they would want they can go on You Tube and see other parts of the world on a full screen. Whereas back in 1999/2000 if you were looking for certain places you were limited to images only and the few videos that you found buffered for hours. At the end of the day life is what the individual chooses to make it. Evertyhting has to have moderation and balance.
I wish you the best on your journey in life.

On the other hand, we cannot have our daily life all on technology. We still some other activities without technology, e.g. doing exercise, meeting friends & relatives face to face, etc. We have observed that there is a lot of people addicting to technology, e.g. kids keep playing online games the entire, days, some people keep checking tor upload all their daily life onto social media, etc.
We have to always remind ourselves that technology is a tool helping us but should not addicted to it.
Thank you for sharing. Good Luck!

Technology has made a big difference in our lives such as entertainment , education , communication etc. Although it has its own advantages there are some disadvantages as well . For example : People are so engrossed in their phones , they forget to talk to the person sitting next to them , children prefer playing on the computer rather than enjoying outdoor games. Also, without technology it is difficult to stay current and actually find the information you need . So we can't completely get rid of them . However we can reduce the usage of them .
Some of the ways to limit ourselves with technology are :
[+] Start with tiny steps .
[+] Have a meal keeping your phone aside . Talk to your family or friends.
[+] Go for a walk in . Enjoy nature . Keep your phone on silent.
[+]Plan regular outdoor activities like swimming, football , tennis etc with your friends.
[+] Plan a one day trip every month with your friends or family . This keeps you connected with people.
[+] Go for a run or jog for 30 minutes 5 days a week.
[+] Learn a new language .
[+] Gardening

Technology has amazing power and provides huge opportunity for individuals and groups to learn and communicate. While this has lead to many triumphs in our history as a society, and indeed advancement, it does involve a shift or change if you will. Technology has changed the way we view information, and learning. Now a crucial skill is understanding how to find information and indeed to review it, where as previously it was about logical reasoning and deduction, now being able to locate information swiftly and correctly can replace this skill (to some degree). Further to this example, due to the pure volume of information made available now I believe this forces us to place limits on how we consume technology. Without limits we could become lost within the void of content and information that is created day to day, and hence a physical disconnect is required from time to time.
Another aspect is social communication, due to online messaging people are able to wait and tailor responses. This allows for more thought out responses in some situations and less flashes of emotion, which is helpful when candeur is required. However, it does impact the ability to have flowing conversations and to explore emotional responses with people. So once again it comes with the good and the bad.
Overall, these are not complete negatives nor without positive sides. Technology has changed society, and change is always something to be sort after if we are looking to advance and grow as a community.
