Hi Hanan!

I don't actually have an answer, but I was curious about your question. I did a quick Google search for "data visualzation and medical research" and came up with quite a few articles that look interesting. I read this one, which talks about the importance of visualizing data to understand it. It also talks about something that is new to me, "data storytelling", which is using visuals to tell the story. This is a way to help people understand large amounts of data so they can do something useful with it. From that article, I clicked over to the Visualizing Health Gallery and saw a bunch of different examples of visualizations of health information. It's fascinating stuff!

Anyhow, I don't know if you're asking for a class or for potential future career possibilities, but thank you for asking the question—I had fun and learned something as well!

Tony’s Answer

The main reason for using a heat map is that there has been a correlation of using artificial intelligence and a heat map to uncover trends in drug treatment to help with the diagnosis of a particular medical condition.

Not too long ago, there were field trials where people and animals were used to test side effects from medicine. Now that is still done today but it is becoming more common to use technology to determine side effects and treatment while reducing the number of trials and human/animal testing.
