Richard’s Answer

Medical school is an institution for post graduate training to be a physician. It usually consists of 2 years of lecture and lab work followed by 2 years of patient care. Patient care rotations are about 1 month long and give you a chance to experience most specialties. You spend time in outpatient clinics, rounding on inpatients, and assisting in surgery. After medical school you receive additional training in the residency of your choice. Residencies usually last 3-6 years.

Casey’s Answer

Hi Naiome!

Medical school is a special type of school where people go to become doctors!

People who to medical school start by going to college after graduating from high school. You don't have to major in a specific degree, but you do need to take a variety of classes in physics, chemistry, and biology that as a group are called "pre-med". When you graduate from college, you take the MCATs (it's like the SATs but for med school) and apply to med schools!
