Jaki, not sure what grade you are in, but there a simple an obvious things like try and get the best grades possible and develop your reading, writing, language, and math skills. If you are interested in something outside of school or sports, develop that passion. Colleges are looking for well rounded kids and it helps tell a story about who you are and what you are like when you apply. There are good resource sites like https://www.gocollegenow.org/for-students-and-parents/ or https://www.collegeboard.org/. Ask your school if they have resources. One good thing is to have an organizer or planner to keep track of your grades, activities, schools you are interested in, important dates, etc. Some schools have a product like naivance which is an online service that allows you to keep everything in one place online. Good luck!
