Geetika’s Answer
Technology industry is booming and there are many career options within technology industry. When I was looking for job, I used to approach people who are already working in the industry, and the ones who were looking for jobs like me. When I was doing my Masters, I used to approach my lecturers to understand what career options I can choose from post completion of my studies. Trust me, it helped me a lot. I got more clarity on what I need to do post studies. My lectures helped me in building basic skills-set to head start my technical career.
Secondly, you can approach various recruitment companies, and share your resume. Most of the recruitment officers are happy to discuss your skills-set and provide you valuable feedback on career options available based on your resume. Do not hesitate to do so, because no one miss a good advise from the people who actually recruit people.
I have approached my seniors at University who already are working. They have been a great help as well. They shared do's and don'ts in career path selection.
I have done the above mentioned things, and it has helped me in landing my dream job for sure.
If you have any further questions, I am happy to answer :)
All the best!
A Victoria’s Answer
Hi, This is definitely a field that is only going to continue to grow, so you will always have job options. I would suggest you find something that interests you, and find out how technology is used in that industry...as an example, if you are really interested in music, talk to radio stations or recording studios, etcetra, to see what types of tech they use, and how it is applied. I would also suggest talking to your Computer Science teacher at your school and/or the guidance counselor. They should have resources you may not have thought of, yet.

Talk to companies in your city or region who are in the field of technology you think you are interested in. If you think you'd like to work in government then find some local council or govt dept and see if you can talk with someone from their IT or HR department about getting time to discuss career development options or even work experience chance with them. Some of this will be by phone and I suspect you may have some more success if you go face to face. Dont be concerned if get some folks who arent helpful as most good companies are looking to grow their technology skills. Do consider related sectors to what you think as there are so many companies and organisations out there to choose from - the culture of each is unique.
