I am assuming that you are inquiring about being an electrican not so much as an electrical engineer. With that being said a electrician would require electrical knowledge and experience. Look at some trade schools or the military for on-hands trying and learning.

I will assume you are asking about the requirements to become an engineer. If so, I would say you have to enjoy math, physics, and analytical thinking. Engineering is a multidisciplinary field where you apply knowledge in many areas to the solution of problems. It is a very enjoyable and rewarding field; one I highly recommend. It pays well and has many opportunities, with continual opportunities to learn and grow.
