There are many options for pursuing a career that revolves around sports. For example, at Syracuse University the Newhouse School of Public Communications graduates many sports broadcasters, announcers, tv anchors, producers and journalists who have gone on to work for ESPN, NBC, Fox and more (i.e. American Sportscaster Bob Costas). Alternatively, here is a wonderful article about careers in sports management which profiles 8 recent college students who studied sports management in college and you can see the various jobs & internships they obtained after graduation. The examples include everything from working for a sports oriented nonprofit to working in Marketing & Operations for the NBA: http://images.businessweek.com/ss/08/08/0818_sports_management/1.htm

Another great way to learn about your career options if you obtain a degree in sports management is to contact colleges you are considering with that major and learn what companies are recruiting there or where alumni with that degree are working. Every college will have an Office of Career Services or Alumni Relations that you can contact to learn more about the types of jobs their students are obtaining with degrees in sports management.
