Pediatricians made a median salary of $172,650 in 2017. The best paid 25% made $208,000 that year, while the lowest paid 25% made $131,810.

Please keep in mind that the salary will be different for each city and state. Below is a brief snapshot on the difference by city and state:

Best Paying Cities for Pediatricians

  • Deltona, Florida ($285,700)
  • St. Louis, Missouri ($283,890)
  • Montgomery, Alabama ($274,880)
  • Jackson, Mississippi ($272,110)

I agree that the average pediatrician makes 150K-250K per year. You will typically make more in private practice than at an academic medical center.
