Simone,

While you may have "zero" experience, you have a lot to offer! It is important that you be able to focus on what it is that will make you a good employee, rather than just hoping someone gives you that first break. If you have been involved in any extracurricular activities, it shows that you have motivation and self-discipline, along with a sense of teamwork. Church activities? Worked a bake sale or a car wash?

Even if you have zero, look towards your school classes. You had to be organized to remember what was due when, and your time management skills helped you to prioritize what to do first. If you did group projects, that goes towards teamwork. How's your attendance? Employers really care about that!

Present the best possible image of yourself. That includes body language (don't look defeated!) and wardrobe - clean and pressed, no holes, piercings, or tattoos. Be polite. smile!

Basically you go on-line, and fill out the applications. If you know someone working there it might help. Or, find a slow time of day and ask to speak to the manager. You should be able to get fast food or retail, or even a call center.

How are your computer skills? Do you learn quickly? These are all things to focus on in an interview, when they ask "why should I hire you?" It's because you are a quick learner, dependable, and get along well with people - or something like that!

Remember, these companies are out there to make money. Your job is to help them do that through good customer service and sales!

If you are getting interviewed but not getting hired, let me know what questions are tripping you up. If you are doing applications but not getting interviews, just be persistent. Oh, and also go to job fairs if there are any!

just keep trying, it will happen. don't quit!

I would suggest that you look to the Boy' & Girls club summer jobs or Seasonal Retail which is hiring right now in the spring. You also can ask family and friend about who they know that may have Baby sitting or odd jobs to do around the house.

Check out the AT&T jobs site. Sales positions are always open and may be a good job to get started.
