Zach’s Answer

Hello Shawn, you have a lot of good qualities going for you, and it is great that you are pursuing a variety of activities that interest you. With those hobbies I think you should look into careers that allow you to be active while still challenging you intellectually. I am currently a pilot in the US Air Force and I get to pursue many of these interests. For example, when I am flying I multi-task in both the physical and mental arenas using my hands, feet, and fingers, all while problem solving and reacting to a dynamic situation. Additionally, life in the military requires that you remain physically fit, but you also get opportunities to train with cutting edge technology.

If this sounds like something you might be interested in you should begin to look at colleges that have ROTC programs or look at one of the academies (USNA, USAFA, West Point). In the meantime it is important to build good study habits in school. Continue pursuing your hobbies and perfecting your craft. Also, try to take on some leadership roles such as team captain, section chair, etc.
