Holley’s Answer

I agree with the advice you've already been given that your strengths could help you in a number of careers. I also was a hard worker throughout high school and college and I was drawn to accounting. It can be a rigorous field of study, but I liked the challenge. I also liked the career opportunities in the accounting field. I now work in a different area for my company, but I leverage what I learned in accounting each day. I would say keep thinking about what interests you and what your strengths are and you'll narrow it down. And remember, you can always start in one career and pivot later!

Teresa’s Answer

Hi Charlie: , I would suggest you look more at your talents and gifts, with the understanding that reliability, teamwork, studying and planning are a part of almost any job requirement. Look at how Tom Brady prepares for a football game for example. He spends several days just studying film, he works out in the weight room, and even during the offseason he follows a strict diet regimen. He plans every day out so it syncs up with his career goals. That shows how reliability, hard work, studying and planning can be related to almost any career -- even athletics.

For you: a strengths and weaknesses analysis you explore your strengths and weaknesses and try to discover the professional opportunities that exist for you. Your personal obstacles, issues that might hinder your progress, are discussed as well. Probing your own strengths and weaknesses will clarify what the best next step is and how you can improve yourself. It will also tell you more on where you would like to work and where you would be able to prove yourself most. Explore your strengths and weaknesses in depth. What are your talents and when are you at your best? The test may help you gain a better understanding of yourself and your talents. A core personality test can can tell you more in-depth what your strengths and weaknesses are, so you can prepare for an assessment even better. In addition to understanding your strengths and weaknesses, it is a good idea to think about your work values and motivations. They are important when choosing a profession and for your performance in a position.

To provide you more specific advise, I would need to understand the results of your assessment of your strengths and weaknesses. For example, if you were strong in math -- you could be a financial analyst or an engineer. If you liked art and math -- architecture would be a good choice.

Teresa recommends the following next steps:

Try a strengths and weaknesses quiz to narrow down your possible fields: https://www.123test.com/strengths-weaknesses-analysis/

Blake Ashley’s Answer

Hi Charlie,

I think these are all skills that could be applied to a wide range of careers. It really comes down to what you're interested in doing. I'd take some time to reflect on where your interests lie. For example, do you like math, or are you more interested in writing? Do you like to read? Do you like to build things? From there, you can narrow down specific industries that may suit you.

Best,

Blake
