Does Automotive Technician Pay Well?

Yes! The job pays very well. There is a lot of on the job training and continuing skills needed for new cars and trucks. Faster working techs still get paid on the estimated labor time on the repair, so you can make even more money if you're fast at it, and there is more work in the shop to do. The downside is if the shop is really slow and there are too many techs. This happened a lot during the start of the pandemic but seems to have recovered by now.
