Hi Jasmine,

The salary of a PT is variable, depending on education, experience, location, and skill sets. The average annual salary for physical therapist in the United States is $86,520, which is 103% higher than the average income of Americans. The median pay for PTs is $7,210 per month, $1,663 per week and $41.59 per hour.

Hope this helps!

Cathy’s Answer

Pay is good... Depends, It is about average for all the schooling and money invested in college (7-8 years) for a Doctor of Physical Therapy and you will start out at around $30-40 an hour and with several years of experience get to about $50-60 an hour....So depends on how you look at it. It is much better than minimum wage that's for sure, but if you took out $100K for college it doesn't seem like much....It's all in your perspective....But one thing is you will have a job as there is a shortage of PT's and usually the benefits are great too which you should consider along with the salary. You will have a job right out of college and be able to pay back all those student loans!
