David’s Answer

Stephanee, your hash tag says Vet. So maybe that’s what you want to do. The only one with the answer to your question is you. I took agriculture, for two years in high school. One year, was a two hour class. But I decided I wanted to be a people medicine person. If I had to do it all over again, it would have been animal science. If you have three options, start crossing them out, until you only have one left. Stay safe and have fun. I rarely watch the head of a cow or horse. I watch their hooves. That’s what they will hurt you with the most. I learned this when I was a paramedic and when my Ag. Teacher got kicked in the chest, by a heifer. Most of those injuries were preventable. Alabama A&M, Auburn, Tuskegee, Angelo, Calhoun, Coastal Alabama and Gadsden, seem to Ben the best in Alabama, for agriculture. Auburn, Jefferson State and Ross seem like the best, for veterinary medicine.

From my perspective, the greater amount of education will pay off in the end. It will be worth it to buckle down and complete the 4 years of college followed by 4 years of vet school to have the career of your dreams.
