Brenna’s Answer

Practicing will make you better magically. The more you draw, the better you get even if it seems like you are unhappy with everything you make. It's also very important to understand that drawing is always a little scary -- the blank page, the fear of failing, the clear picture in your head that looks so different than you thought it would be when it's actually done, the drawings you can't finish, the drawings you never start -- all of it can be scary.

So the best way to practice is to just not stop practicing even if it feels scary or you get discouraged. It will seem like you are making no progress, but then one day (magic!) you'll see how far you've come.

Brenna recommends the following next steps:

Find something you love and draw it ten times.
Draw something you "know" is too hard for you. Every day.
Copy a drawing that you like! You can learn a lot by copying.

Chas’s Answer

Practice, practice, practice. Doodle all the time. Draw objects you love, and also objects that are challenging.

Chas recommends the following next steps:

Take an art class at school.
Make a commitment to complete at least one drawing or sketch a day.
I also love to doodle & draw in my spare time.
