Lisa’s Answer

Hi Jackeline!

For me I was in my 20's when I decided to go back to school. I started by picking away at my general requirements (English, math, history etc). Then I started on my science classes (anatomy, biology, chemistry). I took a class here and maybe two there while working full time until I met all the requirements to apply for nursing school. Then I dropped to part time work and went to school full time to complete my Associates Degree in Nursing. I went the RN route and got it done in 2 years. After that I took my boards and got a job which helped me pay for my BSN and allowed me to still work full time. After graduating with my BSN I got a raise at work (that was nice) and decided 2 years after graduation I wanted to go on for my FNP Masters in Nursing. I ended up working part time for 3 years and graduated in 2018 with my FNP. I had to take another set of boards and then got a job pretty quickly. I am super happy with my life. I love my job and feel all the hard work is totally paying off. I wish you lots of luck! Nursing was a life changer for me!
