I agree with Angel's answer. I recommend you get certified in Project Management, I am PMP certified from the PMI Institute, it has given me the knowledge and skillset to move my career into Project management. I am actually a Program manager now in a global role, and I truthfully use all that I learned through my PMP certification, day to day on the job.

I manage real estate functions in my company and see first hand that being a construction manager require a comprehensive set of skills. A few keys skills essential are as follows.1: Project Management skill to manage a multiple months or years projects are a must. 2: People management and communication skills. There are many parties involved to bring a construction project to completion. Along the way, there are many personalities that a construction manager need to work with, conflicts to resolve etc. So definitely suggest that you take a class or two to bolster your PM skills as well as working on your communication skills if you are hoping to pursue a career in this area
