What is the first step to start preparing for a research project?

I am starting a research project next year. I am not sure where to start the collection of information. I thought that reading articles will be the correct first step but I feel that I am not moving forward.

Whatever the field of your interest, read related reference articles that help you to get understanding of that project that make you think how to approach that study. Any idea that was not discussed in any of your collected references. if you think that idea is worth then that will be your research project goal. Writing a research project is a time consuming, Best title, Aim or Goal of Studies, Precise introduction, Material and Method, Result (Possible outcome or expected result), if this approach fails what is your alternative approach, Discussion, references.
