Cinthya’s Answer

You definitely could.
You would have to make sure you gave it under control. Making sure you are taking good care of yourself and knowing your triggers, recognition of your auras will be important.
You may have double check with the boards requirements for this.
It also maybe that you would be restricted from high acuity specialties like the OR or ICU for example. But you could do outpatient or rehab nursing.

Cinthya recommends the following next steps:

I recommend getting on your states board of nursing site and seeing what kind of info they have re this
Contact the board directly and get answers.
Ask your local nursing school that you want to attend what I do they have regarding this.

Misty’s Answer

Ash that is a great question.

I would definitely say that you may still be able to be a nurse with epilepsy however I would say that there are some things that you may not be able to do like give shots simply because it could potentially cause harm to you or the patient if you were to seize while doing this. Disability is just a word and you can do whatever you set your mind to however you may just have to change how you do it a little bit.
