Kriss’s Answer

I like to get the student's family or friends involved. Give them homework the can do together with their friends and family. An example is when studying solutions, dissolving a solid into a liquid, a topic like that... let them do make chocolate milk for their siblings using the scientific methods.
Let them take pictures throughout the experiment. You get the idea !

Jonas’s Answer

The most important skills needed to be an educator are cultural relevance, classroom management, and the ability to connect with your audience. Many first year teachers understand their content but get weary with classroom management and cultural connecting to students beyond their content area.

Jonas recommends the following next steps:

Finding teachers who are able to model best practices.
Educators should seek immerse themselves into learning the culture and engaging the neighborhoods they are serve.

Mary’s Answer

I agree with Jonas, people forget how much additional work the classroom administration can be. It's not something to avoid, just something to be aware of. The more organized you can be up front, the easier the parts you enjoy will be.
