Carole’s Answer

Hi Irina: I loved that you wrote your question the way you did. I assuming that you are wanting some help with your career and feeling like you would like to know how to go about finding your career choice and something that will make you happy! Here are somethings that you might check into to help you. 1. If you are in high school or college environment you are in the right place. 2. should start with going to the Career Center and talk with the counselor that will show you some assessments that are available so that you can find out by answering questions which area of careers is your highest number, and that will direct you to the careers that would be in your area. 3. The counselor can help you with this or you can do the assessment on your own . 4 The assessment I have used for many students and adults. is called SDS (self directed search). 5. This assessment is very popular for students because it gives you a lot of information, but seeing a counselor will help you to put together a career choice! 6. There are also personality assessments that will also show you some careers that will right for your personality
( this would be Myer Briggs and a few others. Once you find the careers that interest you, you might want to either volunteer or, get a job to see if that is what you want .This is exactly the way I decided what career I wanted to do, and went back to school for my Certification. These assessments are very important to get a start in the right direction, to decide on what you really want. You should look up and research the two books I suggest to help you make some Career Suggestions! I hope this helped! This will work for you, just follow the steps.

Carole recommends the following next steps:

( I suggest ) a book titled "Do What You Are by Paul Tieger & Barbara Barron
Also the book "What Color Is Your Parachute
I would also suggest again that you seek out Career Counselor at your school or another.

Kim’s Answer

Hi Irina,

You are asking a great question. My suggestion is to start with an understanding of your true strengths and build your potential career path from there. My favorite assessment is StrengthsFinder. The resulting report will provide insights into your natural strengths, what they imply, and what potential opportunities you could consider. This may be a good starting point for you to build upon. Best wishes for your success.

Kim recommends the following next steps:

Research the StrengthsFinder assessment and determine the fit to your needs.
Take the assessment and review the resulting report for insights into your natural strengths and what potential opportunities you may want to consider.
Retain the resulting report for future reference as your career progresses.
