In many colleges, "pre-med" is actually not a major. There are classes required to apply to medical school, and as long as you take those classes, you can major in anything. I am a biology major, for example, and a pre-med student. Either way, before you enter college, you can find opportunities to shadow doctors and volunteer at medical organizations. Both of these options are great ways to connect with people in the medical field so that you can get experience during college. You may also want to look into research labs and see if that interests you. Many undergraduate pre-med students participate in research on campus for experience before applying to med school. If you are look at colleges already, look online at their pre-med programs and curriculum to get a head start. Good luck!
