Hopefully you have a counselor at school with whom to discuss course load, grades and extra curricular activities in preparation to apply to college. You should also be practicing to take the SAT in your junior and senior years of high schools - the way you practice that is by taking the PSAT in previous years. There are numerous free practice tests online to help you get ready. SAT or ACT tests are required to apply to most universities and colleges in the US. Take a look at the ones you are interested in and look at the requirements. Do you have an idea of what you'd like to study and where? start researching so you can narrow down where to apply. There is a ton of info online to aid you with your research. Here is some info to get you started: https://thebestschools.org/resources/best-online-sat-test-prep-services/

Hi! So first have you checked out some schools? Have you spoken to your parents about how to pay for college? And do you have an idea of what you what to study while in college?

The reason I ask these 3 questions is because first if you know what you want to study, and study means that you are going to learn everything about that subject. So if you don't love it! Most likely your not going to push yourself to want it! Think of what motivates you, now think of how you can turn it into a career and inspire yourself!

The next question of schools, this matters because not all schools have the same programs. And if mom and dad have a budget well that doesn't mean you can't go to the school that is a bit more money, that has your program. This means you have to apply for scholarships, which are pretty easy to do. Any college counselor can walk you through it. So sit down and right a list. See if you can answer those questions and if you need a bit more help. Let me know! Good luck, and remember pick your passion!

Saw K,

Research and prepare yourself for the journey ahead. Go on the college websites that your are interested in and find the information of the admissions people as well as alumni. Ask questions about the curriculum. It wouldnt hurt to open a LinkedIn account and network with alumni and staff to show your intentions about becoming a student. I want you know to know not everyone finishes college in a 4 year period so makesure you are directed to the tutoring services and keep them as a contact for future purposes. Finally, I would just advice you to do everything with discernment because once you are in college it can be pretty hectic. I wish you the best on your journey.
