Hi Brian, the first thing I would do is go visit some Automotive Repair businesses in your area and ask the owners if you can sit with them and talk about their average work day. Maybe ask if you can talk with their workers and see what they do. Before you leave tell the owner if they ever need someone to contact you. One of my best friends owns an automotive repair business and he is always looking for good people.
Second, try to find a skill in this business that you can become very good at. This same friend of mine has an employee who has been working there for over 15 years because his skill at painting cars is so good.
