The amount of time off can vary significantly based on the type of job and seniority. You may want to think about the type of work that you like to do and then evaluate the work/life balance associated with that field as well as the amount of vacation or paid time off provided. There are currently a number of employers that provide paid time off benefits that are to be utilized for both sick time and vacation time. If you are healthy, that can provide you additional days. Also, some companies let you carry over x number of vacation or PTO days to the next year, and some limit that amount of time you can take off for a single vacation without management approval.
