Eleanor’s Answer

What a great question! A nurse is a medical professional who cares for patients and has multiple duties and responsibilities. My mother was a nurse and she loved it! Attitude is the hardest part of any profession requiring people skills. Take good care of yourself and seek a balanced life, so you can develop and maintain both compassion and competency.

Nursing is a wonderful gift to the world. Whatever you may find hard, ask for help. It's a great profession that you will be always learning something!

If you think a nursing career is for you, then go for it!!

Eleanor recommends the following next steps:

If you have the opportunity, talk to a couple of nurses and find out why they chose to be nurses and what they like best or least about it.

Tristen’s Answer

Hi there. Personally, the hardest part of my job as an NICU nurse was the hours. I worked the night shift and it was really hard on my body. So I switched to a day job as a nurse case manager. Now I work as a clinical auditor. I audit the charting of the nurse case managers to make sure the company is doing thing the right way. Love it now!!
