1 on 1 talk with college director/admissions?

Currently a junior in high school and am wanting to go to ASU (Arizona State University) and I am wondering if everyone gets a 1 on 1 conversation with the college director to be accepted because my GPA (2.157 I know, its horrific) is terrible and I want to have the chance to explain myself to him and why it was so bad. I know that college applications have a spot where it asks if you would like to add any additional information about yourself but I feel like writing a paper is just a lot and he might not be interested in reading it. #college #school #college-bound #colleges

To be honest, I did not do so well in high school either...... I had no plan on going to college, I thought I would get a job and work, like my parents did, however, one day I decided I wanted more. I applied to a local university thinking that everyone gets in, but I was wrong. That rejection letter did not get me down. I applied at a community college, was accepted, earned my associates degree and then transferred to a large university. You have to do, what you have to do. Go to a community college for a year then apply to your school of choice!

Thank you comment icon isn't community college two years? Brendan
Thank you comment icon Yes, some people go for a short time to get their GPA up others will go for the 2 years and get an associates degree or a certificate. Carmen Barnes

Honestly I didn't do well in high school either. Your best option is to go to community College first, raise your GPA then apply to universities. I went that route and it saved me money and in the end I still got into a top University. You can do it, don't fret.
