Hi Erik!
Regardless of what fashion department you work in (Buying, Merchandising, Production, Design), the best part has to be when you see your customers wearing and really enjoying the clothes you developed! I worked in the Merchandising and Production department, and to see the clothes I worked on selling well with feedback from customers was really rewarding! Some customers are also open to making suggestions, and I have worked with designers who like to tweak some of their approaches to fit their clienteles' wishes.
When you work in fashion, knowing how to adapt is very key to staying successful! I think, this is what makes the job exciting, as you are working together to see how you can address the market and the customers' needs every season.
If you are still thinking about what career in fashion you want to develop, internships are a must! Even if you are asked to do small administrative tasks, when you are working in a design office you can really see what each jobs entail. Be attentive and listen, and also offer ways in which you can help the team to make their jobs run smoothly! I have spoken with designers who try to give their interns small creative projects when they notice how proactive and enthusiastic they are!

I work at Verizon. It’s all about customer service and to be patient. I love working at there because I like to interact with people. I didn’t know I can sale stuff till I join this company. I love to be excited all the time. Customer sometime frustrated but handling with smile and good conversation will help them to clam. I enjoy selling stuff. It’s not easy to be excited all the time but no job is easy. You have to find way to enjoy your life with job too.
