What is it like on a day to day basis of being a auto mechanic?

Hi, my name is Mariah S. I am 20 years old and currently going into trade with Automotive. I was wondering if you guys enjoyed what you do and if it is hard to live working as one. Do you get to see your family a lot or at all and does it pay well enough to support you? I am really into cars and this is one thing that I have been wanting to get into for a long time. I know a few things about cars. I know how to change a tire and check and change the oil. But I really want to know and learn more because I have a car I have been wanting to work on but don't have the experience of working on it. So I am really looking forward to this. Any advise would be great. Thank you #career #automotive #job

There is a demand for Automotive mechanics. There are different pay structures in most shops. Some are flat-rate and others are hourly. The key is to get into a reputable shop and then work with the lead mechanic as much as possible. Advance your learning with as many certifications as your employer will provide. The benefits can be the tricky part...not great medical coverage in most and vacation time may be a deciding factor for you. Family time should not be a problem in my opinion unless you are referring to several annual vacations.

I think so you can make good money in the field, provided you upgrade your skill. Especially when electric cars are on the way to make a grand entry into the market with different set of components than the traditional internal combustion engine cars.
Since you have a passion & I believe a descent money in the field that would give you a career satisfaction as well. Be consistent with learning & hard work & you may have a great career ahead !! Good luck.
