If you are considering a career in the Medical field then I would suggest that you evaluate which level you would be most happy working at. Doctors have a lot of responsibilities and have to make judgement calls very often. They require a lot of schooling and thus many start out with a lot of debt. Nurses are critical to patient care and have to be able to build relationships with patients quickly and keep track of things that Doctors prescribe. There are several levels of nurses all the way from CNA to Nurse Practitioner all requiring different levels of education.
In general the pay level corresponds to the level of education requires.
In addition outside of the patient setting there are also several administrative positions that support clinics and hospitals.

Hi Vanessa.
The medical field in itself is a trade however each part of it is just as important. From the CNA all the way up through the Doctor, there is not one part more important than the next as they are all important parts of the trade for one reason or another. The education levels varies from certification to doctorate just depending on what you want to do and how far you want to go.
