Hi Joshua. Here you go....the pros and cons of a career in HVAC. https://www.chartercollege.edu/news-hub/what-are-pros-and-cons-hvac-career

I'd look those over and see if they match your interests. THEN....you would do well to contact HVAC firms near you and ask if you can VOLUNTEER to do something there for say a short, specific time since you want some practical insights into their industry. Call a few firms until you get a taker. While you are there ask ALL the questions you can think of. You'll get a better sense if this is right for you. Could be. Hope it is! Good luck.

Hi Joshua,
Great question. When you are young, figuring out what job you might want to do is a tough decision. The following are some things to consider.

1. What are the requirements and schooling needs to complete the job.
2. Money. Try to figure out what the average salary is and what the cost of living is in the area in which you want to live.
3. Talk with someone who is currently doing this job. Ask them the pros/cons are about the job.
4. Ask someone who currently works in this field if you can “shadow” them for a couple days. This will give you a good idea if you would like to do this job for an extended time.
5. Ask yourself, “What do you like to do in your free time?” You should enter a career that holds an interest to you, otherwise getting up everyday to do a job you don’t like can make for a long, unsatisfying day.

Whatever you decide, know that when you are young you can always try something else.

In terms of HVAC, qualified workers are in high demand. This field is not saturated as much as it used to be.

Good luck and best wishes to you.
