To have a career as an art director, you will need a portfolio. Take classes in advertising, graphic design, or join campus groups where you can work with the business and a copywriter to develop advertising campaigns. You will need to understand the business challenge -- what does the business need to do and WHY is it not currently able to do this? Understand the audience the business is seeking to connect with. How does the product or service the business offers solve a problem in these people's lives? How do you and your creative partner bring this to life in a way that is arresting and memorable and that supports achieving the business goal. If you can articulately explain these concepts as well as your creative ideas, and what the impact (business results) of your work was on the business by the time you leave college, you will be set to apply for entry level art director jobs. This all assumes that you will have the technical proficiency in various design software. But more important than knowing how to use software is knowing how to think about a problem and the people you need to connect with and how your idea does that. If you can't do that, you will not be able to rise to a Creative Director role.

Second, as much as possible to know the new people. Because they will give you a great feeling. Also if you want to create a new project that you can find someone is suitable for your art work.
