Regarding the IT field in general, if you like solving puzzles and helping people, you will likely enjoy this field. Within IT different specialties have different things that you may or may not enjoy. Personally, I enjoy solving puzzles and helping people to do their jobs better. This may involve solving a problem that is occurring with a system, or designing and implementing an update or new system that enables people to do their jobs with greater speed and efficiency.
Things I don't like about my job would include audits and deadlines. Audits are necessary if you work in a business that involves managing money. Deadlines are just part of working in the business world. The business needs to know when you will have a particular problem solved so they can plan accordingly.
You should investigate each area within computer engineering to decide which may be best for you.

The least favorite part of the job is when the requirements get changed at last minute, but that doesn't happen that often.
