Helping patients is very rewarding, helping patients feel comfortable during their doctor's appointment as well as explaining and clarifying doctors' recommendations and instructions.

While I am not a medical assistant, the MA's at our cancer center are all completely devoted to the patients. Many of them cherish the relationships that they develop with patients who have been undergoing treatment for years. The MA's get to know family members and friends and serve as another unit of support for patients during the ups and downs of their cancer care.

My favorite thing about being a medical assistant is knowing that I play a vital role in my patients' care. I administer tools and medication to support their treatment in accordance to their doctor. There is subtle pride in the work we do as medical professionals.

Your day will involve getting rooms prepared for the physician, taking labs, and helping with paperwork.
Not much experience is required, and most of it is on the job training.
I think it would feel fulfilling to assist a physician to treat patients.
