Robert’s Answer

There are advantages to both.
The Union provides you security and grievance protections. You can travel arround the country to work and carry your certifications with you.
Companies can provide you with higher rates of pay for specific skills and leadership skills. But they also have the freedom to discharge you at will. Only protection is by complaining to the NLRB or state labor board.
Make your own decision as to what you want. Having a marketable skills is the greatest asset you can have.

Dan’s Answer

Hi Gabriel,
I saw your question about working for a Union or a company. Almost all jobs are paid through an organization or company and for some of these positions you can join the Union. Keep in mind, there are some reasons that people join Unions, however it is very important to be sure you understand that there are many reasons to not join one as well.
My recommendation is to read about unions and have an understanding of the services they offer, and how much money that take from your paycheck to be a member.
