For Business Administration, there are many courses you can take. There are required lower division business courses that are required to take. These would be accounting, economics, finance, ethics, information technology. After you take lower division courses, there are required upper division courses as well as emphasis courses. Within the Business Administration major you can specialize in a specific discipline. This would be economics, information technology, finance, and international. I specialized in international. I took courses in international marketing and Chinese and Indian business. I also did a study on Japanese Business History. This went through how different dynasties shaped Japanese today.
I would recommend taking business courses that interest you and be well rounded as all courses will benefit you in any job you take. I just this major because I did not want to specialize in a degree.

You will have to take pre requites such as marketing, economics, finance, management, accounting and more. This is to gain more insight in Business but having an internship or volunteering in business roles gives more fundamentals and experience.

On the specialization - most top programs don't do majors and go with a General Management degree. But you are able to get a ton of elective courses, which is very helpful. Most of the value in the program isn't coming from hard-core finance, accounting or other knowledge. It's from the ability to network and learn from classmates and use the valuable alumni network.
