Estelle’s Answer

Physicians can make anywhere between about 200,000 to several million dollars a year. Certain specialties like emergency medicine get paid by the hour, and they typically don’t make as much as physicians who have procedures. Typically, the highest earning specialties are going to be plastic surgery, orthopedic surgery, and dermatology/cosmetics.

Richard’s Answer

Physician salary depends on the location and specialty.
Family practice doctors range from $150,000-350,000 per year.
Subspecialty surgeons can make up to $800,000 per year; even more if they own their own imaging equipment or invest in a hospital.
