Hi Sequoia,

With the world changing at an exponential rate in the field of automation, the diversity and opportunities related t automotive is a lot more than we can think.

It depends what path you want to take.

You can go for mechanical automation, which is a huge industry involving everthing from Cars, Super cars, Driverless cars to Androids, humanoids to help ease our lives.

If you are interested in software automation, the scope again is very diverse.

As a matter of fact, the bridge between hardware and software has been so narrow now that, your ideas in one field can change and help the other.

This complimentary area in the field of automation has led to brilliant ideas and has scope for infinity and beyond.

So, I would suggest to throughly go through what topics you are interested in the field of automation and take a step to understand it and choose that as a career path if you are interested.

Hope this helps :)

I'm not sure I fully understand your questions, but if you are referencing the automotive industry, we can talk about that. The automotive industry is rapidly changing and advancing. The automotive industry is rapidly making the switch from gasoline to electric. The switch calls for different kinds of positions and more software/electrical-based expertise. Yes, we still have the mechanical components and all other components, but the major parts are changing. This is going to open doors to new areas of expertise. Who would have thought that batteries would be powering our cars?
