Mauricio’s Answer
I am not in anyway close to the welding profession but I know in Southern New Mexico welders thrive simply because this is where oil is produced. I witnessed the increase in oil companies grow in my hometown and so did the amount of welders within the area. I know this because most of my uncle's own their own business and hire about 10-15 welders to work on trucks and or other jobs needed out in the field.

I found this on the web - Texas has been called the welding jobs capital of the United States and it is not hard to see why. Texas has the highest level of employment than any other state. In fact, Houston has the highest level of employment of welders in a Metropolitan area.
