Great question Jennifer! Administration work lets you become familiar with many areas of a company. A great firm is very much a "living organism" and Administrative/Administrator roles typically interact with many departments as well as people at all levels of the organization. I've been a Software License and Asset Manager at several firms and the Administrative responsibilities I had introduced me to alot of people at my firms.

1. Get to know people! Some of us would prefer to work alone or on things that do not require much interaction, but I prefer being around people and I enjoy getting to know them. Working within Admin/HR makes this easy, because your job revolves around people by nature whether it's supporting them through using their benefits, updating their records, counseling employees etc.
2. Flexibility where to work - Today, the way many people work looks different than 5 years ago, specifically many of these jobs can be done either remotely or by going into the office just a few times a week. This wouldn't be possible if you had a field intensive job, that flexibility can be important to you and what makes your work-life balance great.
3. HELPING people - This may be the most important thing. Regardless of how small of an issue or task you take on, it is still in the benefit of your company or an employee so you make a difference. I think this is especially true in a recruiting role, because you are helping someone literally change their lives by changing jobs, fields or even locations.
4. Being at the middle of it all - Working as an Administrator will often put you in the center of everything that goes on at a company or organization. Some people enjoy being "In the know" and sometimes having a say, because it is the HR department that often makes/improves on policies that impact employee's every day lives (Benefits, on-site work policies, diversity & inclusion, career advancement, pay etc.).
